I teach a variety of styles of yoga, below is a simple description of each style.
After a gentle limbering sequence a number of poses are held for generally between 5 to 15 minutes each. Restorative poses are passive, using props (such as blankets, bolsters and bricks) to support the body and allow tension to be released.
Creates a safe space for deep physical relaxation. The mind is guided through a systematic meditation which works with the nervous system to heal and restore the body.
An emphasis on slowing down. We sync gentle movement with breath. The class includes a long a gentle series of limbers to mobilise the body and a selection of traditional yoga postures. We end the class with a long relaxation.
In this class breath and movement are synced and intelligent alignment is taught. You are invited to hold poses or move in and out of the pose dynamically (or a bit of both!)
This class warms the body by moving through a series of vinyasas (sequences paired with breath). Each vinyasa leads to a static pose, balancing movement with stillness.
All of my classes are structured intelligently to prepare the body for movement and with a period of relaxation at the end to allow the body to absorb the practice.
